ANTHONY M. SALERNO: For the past 35 years, I've been involved in the criminal justice system. My first ten years as a trooper, Massachusetts State Police, and I was assigned to the District Attorney's Crime Prevention and Control Unit. And for the last 25 years, I've been fortunate enough to serve as a private criminal defense attorney, representing clients throughout the courts of the Commonwealth. I take that real experience with me into a courtroom when I prepare a case because I've been there preparing, as the other side does in their investigation.
Well, it's always better to contact us as soon as possible. There are many things that could happen during the course of a case, from its investigation to its preparation, and you need to seize the opportunity to gather that evidence and prepare as early as possible.
There are two things I've learned over my 35 years of involvement in the judicial system. One is you can't rush experience. And two is, you have to put in the hours of work to make your case successful. We just flat-out out-work the other side. There's no secret to success. You've got to put the hours in, in preparing a case, preparing your clients and knowing the law.
